Leaving the south of France was bittersweet, but I suppose any place thats hot and has a beach will always be hard to leave. I definitely want to go back. Spent the last couple days soaking in the beach, drinking too much Patisse, sending out a shower of mail love costing €30-40 per 2kg(ish) box. Learned how to make crêpes, did a lil sewing, went to Nuit des Pecheurs by the harbor where the fishermen cooked dishes on dishes along small vendors and live music which was really fun. Then finally the last night, celebrated a birthday right on the beach with a potluck of french food, so delicious, and an after dinner dip in the ocean. A little hesitant at first, til Cedric asked "How often do you go swimming in the Mediterranean at midnight?" I had nothing to say.

Caught a train via SNCF to Nice St Augustine for my flight down to Amsterdam at 718AM, and that was a bit of a struggle. Just short of an hour and 45 minutes, I met a British "yachtie" Julian. He helped me find my way to the airport, because from the Nice station it was hard to simply just explain by mouth, and he was going there too. Julian was traveling to a wedding but worked in Antibes (where I met him for the train transfer- ps the french on the intercom is fast so it helps to just keep track of the time on the ticket it says you will be getting off to make a change) and went between countries here and there in the yacht business. Thank goodness for him because the way to the airport was indeed confusing, around the corned, diagonal under a bridge to the right then a left, and two separate terminals- so best take note so you can catch the free bus over if need be (barely 10 minutes).
Thank you Camille, Fredrique, Will, and everyone! It has been truly lovely and I can't wait to get rich and come back...
