The Night We Broke Into an Almost-Abandoned House

Leaving Montana was bittersweet... the mountains were glowing like a blue/purple lava lamp, it was too difficult to try and focus on naming it one color (okay, blurple).  While at its' feet, Flathead Lake was not a typical blue, moreso like somethin from the Caribbean with a hint of green and an inviting howdy-do that makes you want to float on down with it.

We pass through some pretty curvy roads on the way to McCall, ID where one of my best friends lives.  The road was littered with some perfect facewaves getting surfed, mini rapids, and storming rivers like Lochsa here:

We arrived to Easy St, McCall around 9:15PM or so, with the sun just barely down, and spent the rest of the night in the back bar "Billy & Brenda's Easy Street Bar" playing card games and polishing off anything with a buzz to it.

Sweater-game strong

The next morning was meant to be an early one, so I poked at the guys to get up and make it to some skatepark in McCall before we sped our way to Boise just 2 hours away...

No~fun~Taylo

Tyson with the Good Morning Rainbow roll

We left Taylo's around 1115AM after the skatepark, and had breaky/lunch... (I guess that's brunch)... at Capri Restaurant, a 50s diner just down a couple blocks from the Main Street.  It was so good... really cheery staff especially with Tyson's unhappiness with lack of chicken on the menu... and the cheapest greasiest burgers so far

My salad looked like something a 6 year old made out of cold cuts, and the tater tots were gold... which Kellen later knocked out of my hands and into the trash

We made our way to Alta, Wyoming, where Tyson & Kellen's uncle apparently had a house he built way back in the day that was usually rented out to whomever...

It finally got to a point where it was too dark to figure out if there was a key hidden somewhere, since there was NO ONE home and cabinets looked to be ripped out and shit was everywhere...

We had dinner at some Mexican restaurant down the ways in Driggs (other options where Seuol, Thai, and Italian... all maybe too ethnic for us at 10PM).  The rest of us had slightly sensible meals like cactus, and prawn and enchiladas... but Kellen went the extra mile with the "surprise" taco he asked for... which we found out later was cow's tongue... hehehe... Kell made out with a cow...

So, once we were given the confirmation that their uncles house was yes being taken apart and being sold, the boys decided to break into it - it was fucking freezing, and any amount of insulation was appreciated.

"Hey do you need any help"
"I need my beer!"

It was pretty close to looking like a crack-house once we got inside after Tys and Kell crawled through a window in the basement (while Lucas cursed at owls or whatever winged-creature was swooping from the trees... did I mention Lucas hates birds?)

In the long run after Tyson  ran like a little girl from the house... while trying to convince us it was okay to sleep on the leftover mattresses inside (whyyy)... we all crammed into the vansion for the night, only to be woken up by Lucas' sad near-to-be-sickley-cough - leading him to sleep outside around 3 or 4AM and the most (polite) least threatening neighbor knocking on the window asking us what in the fuck we were doing there...

In the end, I guess we just snuck away with it... the boys left a lil note for Uncle Lloyd and we made our way to Jackson and then onto Yellowstone.

On through Teton
